SILENCE

Like the silence of snowflakes

Caressing the Earth in a gentle embrace

Your Love envelops and protects

Nurturing us in the depths of our winter’s discontent

Calming our fears, wiping our tears

With no hint of frustration or impatience

Only the unconditional love

Of a Mother to Her child

Knowing that growth must sprout from seed

To blossom fully when Spring comes.

We cling to Your Love

Not fully understanding who we are

Only that we belong to You

And are a part of You

Each of us a tiny cell that makes the whole

And in that silence before the Dawn of a new day

We bow down before You

And know that Your Hand guides everything

And Your Eyes see everything

And whether good or bad

There is meaning to it all

And in that silence, if we have courage to listen

We hear You in our hearts

And know that all that You are

We are too.
